Veruschka, a German countess, came to fame in the sixties. In fashion pictures she was usually disguised as some sort of exotic flower or animal.

Celia Hammond and Jean Shrimpton went to the same modelling school, Lucie Clayton's. This picture of the two girls, both as yet unknown, was taken by a newspaper photographer the day they left.

Nicole de la Marge was quite plain without make-up, but given half an hour or so with her bag of cosmetics she could transform her funny little face and mousy hair into things of astonishing beauty. She knew all the tricks of her trade and was constantly changing, adapting, and bringing herself in line with the current fashions.

Grace Coddington became a model in 1959 and through the hectic years that followed proved to be astonishingly adaptable. In 1965 with a Vidal Sassoon haircut and Mary Quant dress.
