Which blonde model is on the Seventeen cover, March 1965 -- wearing pale green dress? She does not look too familiar... Thx.

Hi 67boomer,

I'm sorry that I don't have the answer for you yet. Unfortunately, I don't own that particular issue. One member told me that the theme of the March 1965 Seventeen was London fashions. She believes the model was British, but she can't remember her name. Perhaps another member will know!

Thank you for your response, Susan.

I'm sure you are correct -- it was a British-themed issue; a friend of mine got many of the fashions shown inside for her Sweet Sixteen birthday and we were all a bit envious.

In thinking about this after I posted my question about the model, I realized she is likely British.

I have that issue, thanks to a big auction fight on e-bay a few years ago (ha) but there is no mention of any of the model's names anywhere.

Hi 67boomer,

I guess it takes a 1965 Seventeen model to identify a 1965 Seventeen model!

Terry Reno, one of the most popular Seventeen models of the 1960s, identified the March 1965 English model as Sue Alwin.

Oh, thank you -- and Terry Reno -- for the info re the model on March '65 cover of Seventeen! Terry Reno was one of my favorites from 'back in the day!'

This is such a great site -- I am pleased to be able to 're-live' the past a little bit through it and the beautiful photos.

Yes, thanks to Terry Reno for indentifying Sue Alwin on the cover of March 65. That green dress was my favorite dress ever. I was blessed to go on a shopping spree to Saks Fifth Avenue, where my parents bought me many dresses from that issue. They were wonderful! And thanks too, to you Terry for being such a great model! Ah, those were the days. Loved Seventeen Magazine so much!
