PostVivienne Westwood

Can Vivienne be said to be the successer of
Mary Quant ? they both had shops in the Kings road, they both designed and made clothes for the mass market !
But somehow Vivienne has been a bit of an oddball, so closely associated with the Sex Pistols pop group and a very weird outlook on life.
But you ve got to admire her stamina and her persistance.
Highly acclaimed by so many in the fashion world.... put up there with the likes of Karl Largerfield..... and Yves St Laurent... yet while they were as rich as Croesus ... poor Vivienne was making her creations on a shoe string with none of the big financial backers behind her.
Jeff Banks deserves a lot of credit for the financial help he gave her back in the 80s when her Italian adventure came to nothing.
But Vivienne is.... like the British fashion industry... quirky and eccentric...
Shes still there, battling on and ... like Mary Quant.. she has become a legend .

Vivian Westwood certainly is a legend. What stories she can tell. would be delighted to interview her. Mod London is my passion, having experienced it for a short enchanted time. We would be pleased to see pictures of the Vivian Westwood fashions.

SARA STOCKBRIDGE was born in 1966.
She was Vivienne Westwood's Muse through the '80s.

Just wondering, is Vivienne Westwood the Queen of Fashion
maybe someone went into her shop in the 70s when the Punk scene was
in full swing ........? she was the Queen of Punk back then !
