Wind Song perfume was created by Prince Matchabelli in 1952. The print ads showed a man dreaming of a girl whose Wind Song stayed on his mind. These ads were very unique because although they were for a women's perfume, they only featured images of men. In fact, it is believed that this was the first ad campaign in the perfume industry to do so.

In 1964, Seventeen magazine even sponsored a contest for readers to send in photos of their own special Wind Song Men....

Boris and Sophie Leavitt opened an apparel store in Hanover, Pennsylvania in 1934. That one business venture soon grew into a chain of a dozen shops. After World War II, the Leavitts advertised their better merchandise in magazines. Then they began publishing a specialty catalog of fashions in 1950 and named it after their daughter Lana Lobell. They were truly pioneers in direct marketing!

In Veruschka's album, the second photo isn't Veruschka...it is Samantha Jones, photographed by Henry Clarke in Udaipur, India for the June 1967 issue of Vogue US.

I've posted seven more scans of Henry Clarke's photos from this same story in the Members Add Photos album, for Samantha Jones' album. I see that one photo from this story is already in Samantha's album (1st page, 5th row, 3rd photo).

I've also put a scan of the October 15, 1964 Vogue US cover, which is Veruschka photographed by Penn, in the Members Add Photos album.
